About Me
I'm Emily, a UX Designer with a background in illustration and the art industry. I have just completed my full-time UX/UI Design course and am currently working as a freelance illustrator. I was led to UX Design through a desire to apply my pragmatic skills which include managing a high-profile client portfolio and executing complex end-to-end projects with my creativity and passion for visual design. I believe in accessibility. I am from the UK, and my experience as an immigrant in this country has inspired me to design for good and design for people. Coming from a place with socialized healthcare, I believe the US healthcare system is inaccessible to the average low/middle-income individual. I want to be a part of empowering people to have access to quality, affordable healthcare, particularly for the LGBQTIA+ community. I have experience with UX design processes through my project-based intensive program where I have gained skills in user research, competitive analysis, interviews, ideation, persona development, user flows, information architecture, wireframing, prototyping, and testing. To complement my coursework, I like to draw, make lino prints, and see art shows in NYC. Outside of art and design, I love to ride my bike on upstate trails, and dance to Lady Gaga.
