About Me
I have completed internships at the Hickory Museum of Art, and Blue Spiral 1 in Asheville. At the Hickory Museum of Art as an Exhibitions Assistant, I worked directly with the Exhibitions Manager. My responsibilities included handling art, working with the public, and interacting with the artists. I was also given an opportunity to sit in on management, budget, and marketing meetings. Through this experience, I was able to see real-life examples of what I learned in my fundraising, marketing, accounting, and nonprofit classes along with being able to explore creative expression through designing exhibitions and creating children's activities. This past summer I interned at Blue Spiral 1 where I gained experience working with clients, artists, and the public, teaching me effective communication, listening, and interpersonal skills. I also had the opportunity to work closely with the Downtown Asheville Arts District (DAAD) which allowed me to build on my communication skills, develop administrative skills, professionalism and handling responsibility. My responsibilities included: contacting and arranging meetings with twenty organizations to discuss their social media marketing strategies and writing a social media guide that was given to these organizations. Along with these, I was also in charge of the redesign of the DAAD Website which allowed me to have creative freedom along with learning how to produce a quality product with minimal direction.
