Our status page stops blaming other people's websites on us
The status page counted a dead link on someone else's site as a Designed outage. It now judges our own surfaces on our own checks and reports third-party links separately.
Our status page checks links across the platform, and some of those point at other people's websites — an employer's listing, a community's home page, an external learning resource. When one of those went dead, the page reported a Designed outage. It was never one.
The status page now separates the two. Our own pages and assets decide whether Designed is up; third-party links are checked and reported, but they cannot mark us down.
