Our Impact, in real numbers

Our Impact page used to explain how we think about impact and, honestly, showed no numbers, because we did not want to publish figures we could not stand behind. It now shows more than forty real counts straight from the platform: members and mentors, the countries, cities, languages and time zones our community spans, mentor matches and sessions, learning paths and labs, work critiqued, events, jobs, projects and stories, and a Behind the scenes section for the machinery — feeds monitored, links checked, releases shipped.

Two figures carry our history. Mentor matches and mentoring emails include the years before this platform existed, when Designed Mentors ran on an older system, so they start from what was already achieved and grow from here. We started in 2017 and 79 volunteers have given their time since, and those sit at the top.

The numbers refresh every few hours. A block only appears once it has something to count, and we will keep adding figures as the platform records more of what members do. The framework for what we consider real progress is still on the page, because activity is the floor of impact, not the proof of it.
