A private notebook for every mentoring relationship

On any request's page, Notebook opens a drawer for your own notes, next actions and a follow-up date. The other person never sees it — and mentors have one for the first time.

Open any request in your mentoring Inbox and there is a Notebook button at the top of the page. It opens a drawer over the conversation for the things you want to keep to yourself: private notes on how it is going, the next actions you mean to take, and a date to follow up.

The page holds what both of you can see — the ask and the conversation — and the drawer holds what only you can see. It says so plainly at the top, naming the other person, and nothing written in it is ever shown to them. Mentees also find their check-ins here: whether the session happened, whether it met what they were hoping for, and whether they have done the next action they set themselves, which are the two answers a mentor does get to see so they know how things went.

Until now only mentees could keep notes. Mentors, who are often helping several people at once, had nowhere to write anything down. Both sides have the same notebook now, and any notes mentees had already written have been carried across.
