About Me
I graduated from the University of Toronto's Master of Information program focusing on UX and information systems design, and my background is in architecture. I have worked as a product designer at a small start-up company for the last year. I do not have a strong online presence and currently working on creating a new website for my portfolio. My company specializes in providing custom geospatial solutions, mainly for governments. I am working on our existing service contracts and the product development effort with the overarching goal of improving the company's design maturity. Design thinking is a relatively new concept to our team. As the only UX/Product designer in our company, I do not have a design team or a senior manager. I work alone, reporting directly to the CEO and the Director of Technology. My role is loosely defined, and I usually wear many hats daily to make progress as a team of one. I often wish I could have more guidance and mentorship to support my professional growth. As a junior designer, I hope to grow my skills, make better decisions, and gain new perspectives on the industry and my career by connecting with a mentor through this platform. I appreciate this opportunity and look forward to joining the community. Outside of work, I have three cats, and in my free time, I enjoy hiking, cooking, swimming, puzzles, reading and playing grand strategy or sandbox games on my computer.
