About Me
Hello, My name is Matt. I am a Canadian UX/UI Designer that lives in Barcelona with a background in e-commerce and project management. I love all design that is clean, sharp, captivating and improves people’s lives by providing a smooth, seamless, and overall happy user experience. I am a curious person by nature, especially when it comes to human behaviour. To better understand our behaviour as a society I studied for an undergraduate degree in International Development and Sociology. I then wanted to find ways to apply this knowledge in a results-driven multidisciplinary way which is why I completed a postgraduate degree in Project Management. This opened the door to the tech world which brought me multiple opportunities including a 5+ year growing career with e-commerce leader, Shopify. Due to my roles at Shopify, I had the opportunity really understand the customer experience from both: the user and the creator experience, which further fueled my curiosity about behaviour. I completed a BootCamp for UX/UI design over a year ago but I still find that I am having issues finding work opportunities in UX/UI design. I know I have a lot to learn and would really love the opportunity to do so within your mentorship program.
