About Me
Hey there! My name is Yvonne. I studied media and communications in graduate school with a focus on audience studies. After graduation, I joined a technology company specialising in books and clothes recycling business as a marketing and business development associate. It was a management trainee program and I was mainly responsible for planning, organising and executing some offline events, like pop-up stores and craft fairs. I recognised that I was not interested in organising an event compared with assignments like conducting preliminary market and user research, designing questionnaires and interview guidelines to collect feedback from users, and even participating in site investigations for opening a new branch. I quit my job in March this year since the offline events were blocked due to the epidemic in China. I suffered for a long time when I lost interest in almost everything due to the position I was in itself and the special environment of China. During these months before joining a new company, I tried to take courses on UX design and also web development(HTML, CSS, javascript) and planned to switch my career to UX researcher or maybe a UX designer in the future. Currently, I’ve got one opportunity to work in a local marketing research agency in Beijing and serve as a qualitative researcher. I wonder whether it would be beneficial for me to make the career transition.
