Meet Mosaic, the AI we are building into Designed.

Mosaic's first job is the News and Events feeds. A lot of articles and events get pulled in from across the design world every day, and plenty of them are not worth your time. Mosaic reads each one and asks a single question: would a working designer be glad this was put in front of them? Genuine craft writing, research worth reading, a conference actually worth the trip — yes. Press releases and thin listicles — no.

Right now it is doing that quietly. Mosaic makes a call on every item and files it, but a person still makes the final decision, and we compare the two. We would rather earn your trust on the unglamorous work before it changes anything you see. It cannot remove anything a member has posted, and when it is not confident it says so and passes the item to a human instead of guessing.

That is the beginning, not the plan.

What we are building toward is an AI that understands your work well enough to help with the parts of a design career that are hardest to navigate on your own — pointing you to the mentor whose experience matches the problem you are stuck on, surfacing the lab or resource that fits the skill you are building, flagging the job that is genuinely worth your attention. Those connections already exist on Designed. Finding them is still entirely on you. That is the part we want to change, across every corner of the platform.

Mosaic is early, and we would rather say so plainly than oversell it. But we think it will become one of the most useful things here, and it will grow month by month as we bring it into more of Designed.
