Form fields you can see the edge of

Every text field, dropdown and search box on Designed drew its border in a grey too pale to see against a white page. They all have a visible edge now — and the little green mentor-availability dot no longer appears on members who were never asked the question.

If you have ever hunted for the edge of the search box, that was real, not your screen. Every dropdown and text field on the platform outlined itself at about 1.5:1 against the page behind it, and every multi-line box at 1.2:1 — well under the 3:1 that WCAG 2.2 asks for the outline of a control. On a white page the border is often the only thing saying a control is there at all.

They now share one darker edge: the site search and its filter chips, the filters on this updates page, the language switcher, comment boxes, the evidence forms, the help-centre feedback buttons, and nine fields in the job tracker. Nothing moved or changed size — the outlines are simply visible.

The other fix is on your avatar. The small coloured dot is meant to say whether a mentor is currently taking requests, but it was reading a setting that is simply unset for anyone who is not a mentor. Every member who had never been asked was quietly wearing a green "available to mentor" dot. It now shows only for mentors; available and unavailable differ in shape as well as colour, rather than in two greens of nearly the same lightness; and the dot has a name a screen reader can announce instead of being silent.
