About Me
My name is Sarah Nikkhah. I am passionate about researching and designing pleasant experiences with long-term impact. I translate research findings into insights, stories, and design technology. Some highlights of my work at IU as a Ph.D. student and UX Researcher: - Building a research plan and conducting research to design Family Resilience Technologies - Winning 3 Hackathons - Prize Winner Open IDEO Empowered Health Cancer-Free Challenge - Leading and mentoring 8 professional designers and master students - Presenting and Reviewing work at CSCW and CHI - Worked under two NSF Funded Projects - Worked as a Graduate Ambassador for IU school of informatics and computing - Worked as a Graduate Representative at Graduate School Students Government I am working under an NSF-funded study designing family-centered technology to support family caregivers' collaboration in cancer care. Previously, I worked under another NSF Funded study designing technology on supporting dyadic coping and cancer care. My dissertation topic: Family Resilience Technologies: Designing Collaborative Technologies for Caregiving Coordination in the Children’s Hospital. Research: Research design, User research, Recruitment, Surveys, Interviews, Team leading, Observations, Focus Groups, Market/Industry research, Building Personas, and storyboards, Brainstorming, Qualitative analysis, Inductive/ Deductive coding. Design: Sketching/Paper prototyping, Storyboarding, Wire-framing, Visual, and Interactive Prototyping. Evaluation: Cognitive Walkthroughs, Heuristic Evaluations, Usability Testing.
