Maitri Bhateja
About Me
Maitri is a Product Designer, an ambitious Cognitive Scientist who considers herself competent in structuring informational chaos. She calls San Francisco home while her values stem from her multicultural Indian heritage. She began her design journey as an Architect about a decade ago, shaping physical realities that deeply influence human emotions and well-being. Five years back, that interest in curating spatial experiences evolved into a passion for designing for the digital realm. Currently, she is pursuing a Master's in Design in Human-Computer Interaction from California College of the Arts where she’s working as a Social Impact Partner with CNN to redefine its connection with the younger audience by focusing on political and voting literacy as its engagement strategy. Previously, she was crafting digital experiences at Thence in India for leading products from e-commerce, sports and fitness, education, fintech, SaaS, and AR/VR organizations. Maitri considers her superpower to cultivate deep emotional connections to design experiences that speak directly to the heart. At her core, kindness drives her interactions, empathy colors her perspective and she prioritizes seeing the humanity in everyone first before anything else. Her silent dialogue is sketching, through which she decodes complexity to voice the ideas in her mind. In her time off work, she likes to immerse herself in an information overload about her current obsessions.
