Enthusiastic to support creative practices of all kinds. Experience as a designer in small and medium-sized studios, as an art director in magazines and editorial, as a collaborator with architects and scientists, and as a design educator since 2008. Research in graphic design history & typography. With over 18 years of design industry experience, clients have ranged from architects to artists, community organizations to academics, filmmakers, photographers, publishers, museums, entrepreneurs, writers and scholars. I am an Associate Professor of Graphic Kansas City Art Institute where I combine my professional design experience with research collaborations. TEACHING: Since 2008, I have taught design courses at schools including Parsons School of Design at The New School, CUNY Queens College (NYC), Oklahoma State University and Kansas City Art Institute. Focus on typography, design history, and user experience. STUDIO: For Instance is my design practice. Independently and collaboratively with other designers, For Instance designs and builds visuals, spaces, tools, presentations and interactions to engage audiences at all scales of communication and distribution.
