About Me
Hey there 👋 I'm Jon, a product design manager native to the Seattle area. I've been doing design professionally for about 12 years, and managing teams of designers for 4 and a half those. I have experience at early start-ups, scaling mid series companies, and growing with large enterprise companies. When managing teams, I focus on developing and growing the team by listening first, and then connecting people's talents and gaps with the work that will not only fulfill them, but help them grow in the right areas needed to advance their careers. I am passionate about mentorship and sponsorship, and helping people figure out how to pursue their passion in design as a career. I am happy to give portfolio reviews, case study feedback, general advice about breaking into the design industry, or whatever else you need. I have experience and training as a generalist designer to help with any part of the design process, but I also have deep expertise in stakeholder management, design ops and process, and deep expertise in prototyping and motion design. I am a maker at heart and in my free time you will always catch me working on some sort of project from woodworking, to screen printing, to model making. I have an extreme curiosity about the world around me and tend to know a little about a lot of different things, but then I also love to go down a rabbit hole and dig deep, fully immersing myself into the details on some things.
