About Me
I'm a senior UX part of the people Experience team within the HR department at Amazon working to improve proficiency and comprehension in post-secondary education and further. During my 2.5 years here I've also worked with AWS working with their cloud infrastructure team to improve global warehouse receiving logistics. Outside of Amazon I've been a teacher/mentor for 8 years with DesignLab as well as SVC in downtown Seattle doing in-person work and career guidance. Some of my greatest experiences come from working with career changers and people in other countries who have taken the risk to try to enter the field. Prior to that I was with Discovery Education developing e-learning tools for grades K-8 for 6 years. I also have experience with direct marketing and retail having worked for Sears in Chicago. I was never a "great" designer, but I always had a great work ethic and the willingness to learn. My fortunes and success have put me in a situation where I would like to, and feel the need to, give back and support anyone who is looking to make a career change or enter in general. We need more opportunities for individuals who are willing to learn and work and I want to be a part of that. I hope this didn't come off too self-righteous. It's difficult to speak about myself but remain humble.
