Your basic profile info — name, headline, bio, and photo — lives under **Settings → Basic Information**. This is what shows up on your public profile and anywhere your name appears across Designed, like on a [Critique](/critique) submission or a [mentor listing](/our-mentors).

Changes save immediately and reflect across the platform right away.

Updating your profile

**Settings → Location** controls your country, city, and timezone — this is the same timezone used to match you with mentors and, if you become one yourself, shown to mentees browsing [Our Mentors](/our-mentors).

**Settings → Social Accounts** is where you link things like your portfolio site, Dribbble, Behance, LinkedIn, or Twitter/X. These show up as clickable links on your public profile.

**Settings → Experience** and **Settings → Education** let you add roles and schools the same way you would on a resume — title, company/institution, dates, and a short description.

If you're applying to [become a mentor](/help/mentors/becoming-a-mentor), a filled-out experience section makes your application easier to review and gives prospective mentees more context on your background.

You can change your password any time from **Settings → Password** once you're signed in. If you're signed out and can't remember it, use **Forgot password** on the [sign-in page](/login) instead — we'll email you a reset link.

If you originally signed up with Google, LinkedIn, or Facebook, there's no Designed password to reset — sign in with that same provider instead.

If you've been approved as a mentor, **Settings → Mentoring** is where you control whether you currently show up as available to mentees, plus whether online booking is turned on. Toggling yourself unavailable doesn't remove your mentor profile — it just pauses new requests while you're at capacity.

**Settings → Donations** shows a history of contributions you've made through your account. See [Making a donation](/help/membership-donations/making-a-donation) if you'd like to give.

Mentoring availability and donations

**Settings → Delete Account** lets you permanently delete your account. This removes your profile and personal information from Designed.

Deleting your account can't be undone. If you just want a break, turning off mentoring availability or simply signing out is reversible — deleting isn't.
